Car park at Ricey Bas church.
(S/E) Setting off from the church, walk past Taisne Castle (the medieval section dates from the 12th century, with later additions from the 17th and 18th centuries). After the bridge over the River Laignes, turn right onto Rue du Pont Cocquard (D142).
(1) Walk alongside some gardens, cross a bridge, then cut across the D70.
(2) Continue along the path, which climbs gradually along the edge of the woods, to join theGR®703.
(3) At the fork, turn left, leaving theGR® markings, and head uphill towards a triangular junction of paths.
(4) At this crossroads, head down to the left into thefirst valley, passing thefirst Côte des Bars, and reach the edge of a vineyard near a small wine-growing building.
(5) Turn right and quickly leave the track to take a path on the left, still at the foot of the vineyard, which soon joins a wider track.
(6) Turn right and walk for about a hundred metres until you reach the junction with an access road to the vineyards. Take this road to the left for about 300 metres.
(7) Leave the road by turning left onto a well-marked track, running alongside the vineyards on your left, which overlook the Champlauche valley, and woods on your right. There is an unobstructed view over the Les Riceys vineyards, whose villages lie at an average altitude of 170 m, and towards a clear horizon beyond the Laignes valley. The path is easy to follow, with a slightly steeper section halfway along this stretch leading to the D70.
(8) Cross the road with care, pass by the Chapelle Saint-Antoine and arrive at the village entrance.
(1) Head back to the church (S/E) via the same route you took on the way out.
