The hike starts from the wine-growing village of Verdigny in the car park in front of the stadium. The hike is not signposted.
(S/E) Leave the car park and head left towards the village. Walk past the cemetery and take the first road on the left towards the church. Pass in front of the church, turn left onto Rue Saint-Pierre aux Liens and, at the next crossroads, turn right onto the road called Chemin du Pré. Follow it straight ahead to the end.
(1) Continue along the path between the vineyards in front of you. Follow it straight ahead and descend towards the village of Chavignol. Pass the first street on the left and continue to the next crossroads.
(2) Turn right and go up, leaving the small square on your left. Pass the two streets on your right and continue straight ahead towards the church. Take the street on the left before the church. After the houses, the street turns into a path that overlooks the valley floor. Pass the first path on your left in the middle of the valley.
(3) At the bottom of the valley, turn left and cross the small bridge. Go up opposite and take the second path on the left that climbs between the vineyards on the other side of the valley. Continue straight on this path until you reach the small road.
(4) Turn right, then take the first path on the right at the corner of the cross. Climb a few metres and take the first path on the left, which climbs gently before descending towards the village of Amigny.
(5) Before reaching the village, take the path on the right towards the wash house. Pass in front of it. At the first crossroads, take the path on the right that climbs into the woods (first difficulty of the route: steep slope). Continue along the path towards the pylon (leave the woods, pass the vineyards).
(6) Take the path on the right that passes at the foot of the pylon, follow it and descend.
(7) When you see the cross you passed earlier, take the path on the left (do not go all the way to the cross). You will then be overlooking the vineyards and the valley above Chavignol. At the first crossroads, go back down to the small bridge you crossed on the way up, at the bottom of the valley.
(3) After crossing the small bridge again, turn left and climb back up into the woods. This is the second difficult section of the route, but the climb is less steep than the first.
(8) At the first crossroads, take theGR® on the right and continue climbing through the woods. You will come to the vineyards above Chavignol , where you can admire the vines clinging to this particularly steep hillside. Descend towards the road and climb back up to the left for about a hundred metres.
(9) Take the path on the right at the entrance to the bend. Follow this path to the next road. You are now above the village of Verdigny, your starting point. Turn left onto the road.
(10) Take the first concrete path on the right to reach the village. Turn left and cross the village to return to your starting point (S/E).
