Let's go and see an exceptional beech tree in Saint Hubert.

All along the Saint-Hubert Canyon, which climbs towards the forest, you can admire beech trees clinging to the rock faces. One of these beech trees received the jury prize in the 2022 remarkable trees competition.

Description of the walk

Parking is available at the Rabas Chapel car park located between Saint-Hubert and Befey

(S/E) The start is on the GR®5. Join the Befey road and head north, on the left, on the GR®5 to Saint-Hubert. Join the D52, continue north on the GR®5 for about a hundred metres.

(1) Follow the yellow rectangle marker and climb up the Saint-Hubert Canyon where the beech trees are located.
After the canyon, continue climbing towards the forest, following the yellow markings.

(2) At Chemin de la Femme Morte, stop following the yellow markers. Head south then east, keeping to the right. Continue until you reach a bend heading due south.

(3) Take this uphill bend on the right-hand side. Continue in this southerly direction. Cross a forest road and continue south then south-east, ignoring all the tracks on the right-hand side, until you reach another forest track.

(4) Take it on the right, heading west towards Befey. In Befey, take the road on the right.

(5) Pass the Charlemagne Fountain, drink as much as you like and continue straight ahead to reach the Rabas Chapel (S/E).

A superb walk, I enjoyed the route all the way and so did my friend. We completed it in the time given, walking at a leisurely pace and taking in the scenery.
Thank you very much for this route

A very beautiful walk, partly through the forest and partly across limestone plains, covered with flowers and thickets of broom that are very fragrant in springtime. Perfect timing!

Nice walk. A good kilometre blocked by tree trunks across the path, tricky passage (logging in progress).
