After the buildings at Morière le Cap and the subsequent climb, the forest road makes a sharp turn to the left. A path branches off to the right with a parking area.
(S/E) Follow the track that continues along this path (barrier) towards the high-voltage power lines. You will come to a Y-junction with a cistern at the fork.
(1) Take the track on the right, which descends slightly.
(2) At elevation 596, turn right onto a fairly wide path in the forest (old ET green markings called Citerne neuve). You will come out in front of a building containing a cistern that collects rainwater.
Continue along the path that climbs to the right of the cistern (still marked ET). The path climbs before descending steeply and passes next to a stone slab with a view on the left. Go around the natural arch of the Croix de la Garoute - a sight worth seeing - before coming out onto a large track (GR®51).
(3) Do not take this track. At the bend, take a path that starts on the left towards Ubac de Valbelle. Please note: the GPS route and the trail route do not coincide. Once on the trail, follow it; it is very visible and you cannot go wrong. Further on, the two routes meet at the crossroads where the trail leads to a wide, sloping concrete track.
(4) Turn right, pass a water reservoir on your right and join theGR®9(tree with a sign embedded in the bark). Follow it to the left for about a hundred metres, then turn left onto a path that serves as a shortcut before rejoining the GR® further down. Turn left again.
(5) Aiguilles de Valbelle: a popular picnic spot (note that spaces are limited). Set off again on the track, following the red and white markings ofthe GR® 9. At the hairpin bend, leave the track and continue straight ahead on a narrower path. After a steep climb, an equally steep path on the left branches off fromthe GR® (yellow markings).
(6) Take this path to reach a wide track, which you take to the left. There are numerous signs: follow the signs for "Abri du Siou Blanc" to start with and rejoin theGR®99further on. Continue to the left when the GR® branches off to the right.
TheGR® branches off to the left; stay on the track, continuing straight ahead to reach the Jounces crossroads.
(7) Take the track that descends to the left (signposted "Stèle") and leave it at the first bend to the left (elevation 600) to take a path on the right, ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left. This leads to another track.
(8) Follow it to the left to return to the cistern at the Y-junction you passed at the start.
(1) Continue straight ahead to return to the car park (S/E).
