In the village of Saint-Nicolas-de-Macherin, park near the football stadium (there are several car parks in the area)
(S/E) From the football stadium, head towards the hamlet of Bourdis (Chemin du Bourdis) and cross the hamlet, continuing straight ahead. At the exit of the hamlet, at a cross, the road ends and gives way to a dirt track. Follow it to the end.
(1) At the junction between the dirt track and the road to Paris, turn left. Follow the road to the crossroads with the departmental road (route de Crossey), then cross it to reach a small dirt track opposite, blocked by large stones (do not cross the bridge). Continue along this dirt track until you reach a small road (Chemin de l'Étang), then turn right onto it.
(2) At the crossroads, follow the road to the left (route des Combes). Continue along this road, ignore a road on the right and arrive at a junction with a road near a small pond and a barn. Turn left at the pond to enter the hamlet of Bergureuil. In the hamlet, stay on the main road, then continue uphill on the road blocked by large stones (Chemin des Vignes).
(3) At the entrance to the hamlet of Hautefort, continue straight ahead and climb a fairly steep road to a crossroads where you will find a cross, a pond and a statue of the Virgin Mary. Turn left and stay on the main road through the hamlet.
(4) At the exit of the hamlet, at a cross, turn left and go down a steep road (route des Prairies). At a second cross, turn left onto a dirt track (Allée Cavalière: Please note that this track is private, but the owners tolerate pedestrians passing through. Please be respectful of the area). Continue along this path to the end, then, at the junction with Allée du Château, turn left and continue along the lake. Then turn immediately right. Go down the road, which continues as a path at the end of the residential area. Follow the path until you reach Impasse de l'Érinier.
(5) Turn right, follow the path to the end, then cross the departmental road to reach a dirt track opposite. Follow this path to the football stadium at the end (S/E).

, on a short section of the path (near the castle), there is a sign that reads: "Private property, no public access."
