Circular route via the Port de Saleix and the Pic de Girantès
This route offers a very pretty circular route providing access to a superb viewpoint over the entire massif. The Coumebière Plateau is a stunning grassy meadow leading to the Pas du Roc canyon. What’s more, vultures are often seen circling above the Pic de Girantès to take advantage of the updrafts, providing a great opportunity to take some magnificent photographs.
Turguilla Valley, Pic Séron, Étang d'Aubé, Col de Cerda circular loop
A very beautiful circular hike to do in good weather. There are a few passages with cables and iron ladders, but they are not particularly difficult. The markings are sometimes unclear. This is a hike to be done at a leisurely pace, taking time to observe the flora and fauna. Allow for 7 hours rather than the average time automatically calculated.
Pique Rouge de Bassiès
A very beautiful hike that follows a ridge line and offers magnificent views of the entire massif. This is a hike with a significant elevation gain, reserved for experienced hikers.
Arbonne Valley, Gros Buisson, Milly Rocks, Queen’s Rocks
This is an area rarely visited by walkers, which is quite unspoilt and borders on designated nature conservation areas. The route consists of sandy paths that dry out very quickly. Take care on the rocks on the plateaus, as they can be slippery in wet weather. Furthermore, the paths on the plateaus are not signposted and it is easy to get lost. A GPS or the Visorando app is therefore recommended.
Allée des Lions, Étang de Taffarette, Château de Ferrières, Pontcarré
A half-day hike in the Ferrières Forest, starting with the majestic Allée des Lions, passing by the Étang de Taffarette and skirting the huge grounds of the Château de Ferrières. The second part may be a little muddy.
