Between Le Puy Giroux and Montrognon
This hike involves climbing two volcanoes, Puy Giroux and Montrognon, where you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views. The route also takes you through several villages (Saulzet, Opme and Romagnat) via a trail that follows forest paths.
La Fontaine Salée
A day's walk from Picherande allows you to discover the impressive glacial cove of Fontaine Salée, whose pastoral activity is now protected by a nature reserve.
A pleasant walk along the banks of the Auzon.
Near Chanonat, this short walk takes you across the Auzon twice and past several ponds. It's a great way to stretch your legs, alone or with your family, in the forest.

The Fairy Chimneys of Boudes

A family-friendly hike on the slopes of Puy Giroux, offering views of the Montagne de la Serre and the Redon Plateau.
The Montrognon Circuit
From the centre of Ceyrat, explore the Moulin de la Tranchère, enjoy panoramic views of Clermont, Romagnat and Clémensat, then return by walking through the small gardens of the old village.
Le Chaos de la Faille
This route allows hikers to walk among the granite rocks that bear witness to the Limagne Fault, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2018.
The Auzon via Puy Giroux
The climb up Puy Giroux offers magnificent panoramic views of the Chaîne des Puys and Mont Dore. Descend through the pretty villages of Opme and Chanonat to reach the banks of the Auzon and the Chaos de la Flore. A short stretch across the Redon plateau to return.
