About

At Pipsticks Walks we have a passion for walking and the great British countryside. Walking is so much more than just a walk and we love to share our knowledge and interests so that you too can appreciate the places and landscapes that we treasure.
We aim to do more than just show you the path, we give you purpose to walk on it!
In addition to our friendly in-person professional Guided Walking, Nordic Walking, and Navigation Skills activities, we now share some of walks with you on Visorando to help you enjoy your precious time outdoors.
Most of our activities take place in and around the nationally important landscapes of the Chiltern Hills and North Wessex Downs. With great transport links (road, train or bus) to the area from London, Oxford and beyond, our walks are perfect for a stress-free day out or a short break in the countryside.
We check our routes regularly, but if you come across any issues or have suggestions for improvement, please do let us know.

Binfield Heath and Crowsley Park - Hound of the Baskervilles!

Departure from Binfield Heath (Oxfordshire)

A varied circular walk through the undulating Chilterns countryside from the village of Binfield Heath. The walk starts from the village playground and follows mainly good paths, tracks, and rural lanes through woods, fields and parkland. The Bottle and Glass Inn offers a perfect refreshment stop near the end of the walk. This walk can be shortened to 5 miles, should you prefer. Details are included in the description below.

The Hambleden Mile

A short level circular walk from the village of Hambleden. The walk starts from the village car park and follows mainly good paths, tracks, and rural lanes. The walk offers a fine view of Hambleden village across the meadows and is packed with interest.

Hambleden to Mill End and Hambleden Lock

A short circular walk from the village of Hambleden to the River Thames at Mill End. The walk starts from the village car park adjacent to the Stag and Huntsman Inn, and follows mainly good paths, tracks, and rural lanes. The walk offers a fine view of Hambleden village across the meadows and is packed with interest, including the exhilarating walk across the weir to Hambleden Lock. The Stag and Huntsman Inn at the end of the walk is perfect for refreshment.

Hambleden Hilly (Pheasant's Hill, Barn Wood, and Ridge Wood)

An interesting and varied circular walk exploring the valley and wooded hills to the north of Hambleden, the prettiest village in the Chilterns. The walk starts from the village car park adjacent to the Stag and Huntsman Inn; it follows mainly good paths, tracks, and rural lanes. With three significant hills, it offers some fine views of the Hambleden valley and is packed with interest. The Stag and Huntsman Inn at the end of the walk is perfect for refreshment. This walk can be shortened to 4 miles (1 hill), or 6.3 miles (2 hills), should you prefer. Details are included in the description below.
