- 2 : km 0 - alt. 22 m - Cross at lights to Montpelier Vale
- 3 : km 0.09 - alt. 24 m - Head up Montpelier Vale towards heath
- 4 : km 0.17 - alt. 29 m - Keep left onto Montpelier Vale and cross main road (Royal Parade) to heath
- 5 : km 0.32 - alt. 34 m - Take path straight ahead with church on your right
- 6 : km 0.36 - alt. 35 m - Turn slight left and continue through heath
- 7 : km 0.55 - alt. 40 m - Turn slight right onto Duke Humphrey Road
- 8 : km 0.73 - alt. 43 m - Cross Long Pond Road
- 9 : km 0.73 - alt. 43 m - Continue ahead on Duke Humphrey Road heading towards Blackheath Gates entrance to Greenwich Park
- 10 : km 0.84 - alt. 45 m - Cross Shooters Hill Road and continue with pond to your left

- 13 : km 1.22 - alt. 45 m - Continue along path keeping copse of trees to your right

- 15 : km 1.41 - alt. 46 m - Keep on towards Rangers House and rose garden, passing tennis courts to your right
- 16 : km 1.69 - alt. 46 m - Turn sharp right along path following old reservoir to your right, barrows to your left, heading towards Royal Observatory
- 17 : km 2.01 - alt. 45 m - Turn left onto Blackheath Avenue and continue ahead with observatory to your left, pavilion café to your right
- 18 : km 2.21 - alt. 47 m - Continue ahead towards viewpoint at James Wolfe statue
- 19 : km 2.24 - alt. 46 m - Take path down to right in front of cafe to avoid steep and busy steps by observatory entrance
- 20 : km 2.46 - alt. 21 m - Continue down path heading towards boating pond, with views over Queens House
- 21 : km 2.67 - alt. 11 m - Turn left at bottom, heading past Queens House after viewing Titanic Memorial Garden
- 22 : km 2.98 - alt. 11 m - Take path between Maritime Museum and Queens House, and through colonnade (steps)
Stop to view exhibition of globes on lawns in front of Queens House
- 23 : km 3.07 - alt. 8 m - Continue ahead to Romney Road and go left towards crossing
- 24 : km 3.12 - alt. 8 m - Cross Romney Road at lights towards Old Naval College
- 25 : km 3.24 - alt. 7 m - Enter college precincts at gates and continue ahead with Dreadnought Building to your left
- 26 : km 3.34 - alt. 6 m - Continue ahead passing Old Brewery on your left
- 27 : km 3.48 - alt. 4 m - Turn left with river ahead of you, Bellot memorial to your right
- 28 : km 3.58 - alt. 5 m - Exit via gate towards Cutty Sark
- 29 : km 3.64 - alt. 4 m - Turn right out of gate and follow riverside path, with Cutty Sark on your left and foot tunnel to your right
- 30 : km 3.74 - alt. 5 m - Follow riverside path west
- 31 : km 3.94 - alt. 4 m - Continue along riverside crossing Horseferry Place, with playground to your right
- 32 : km 4.16 - alt. 4 m - Continue onto Dreadnought Walk
- 33 : km 4.38 - alt. 2 m - Turn left around Admiral Tower, passing footbridge over River Ravensbourne
- 34 : km 4.45 - alt. 2 m - Continue along Dreadnought Walk with river on your right
- 35 : km 4.59 - alt. 3 m - Continue onto Dowells Street with Waitrose on your left
- 36 : km 4.66 - alt. 4 m - Turn sharp right onto Norway Street
- 37 : km 4.72 - alt. 5 m - Keep left onto Norman Road and cross main road (Creek Rd) at lights towards planted area
- 38 : km 4.83 - alt. 4 m - Turn left onto Bardsley Lane, residential street, and continue along to entrance to garden on right
- 39 : km 4.98 - alt. 4 m - Turn right into walled garden, cross towards church and exit garden onto St Alfege Passage heading towards church
Church is open from 11am, toilets are available.
Church was first to be designed by Hawksmoor (also responsible for Christchurch Spitalfields, St George in the east, St Anne Limehouse), but original church dated to 1012, commemorating Alfege Archbishop of Canterbury, martyred on the spot by Danes.
