14 : km 4.37 - alt. 77 m - 14Shooting Range =>Many well defined paths in this section to avoid. Footpath is to be found in NW corner of paddock (seems 30m further North than OS indicated) It initially follows field boundary West (left) then onto farm track up to railway bridge.
15 : km 4.84 - alt. 76 m - 15Railway Bridge =>Cross railway bridge to follow well defined farm track avoiding turn offs to Gorse Hall and Talbot Farm.
16 : km 5.32 - alt. 84 m - 16Balsam =>Track seems to come to dead end but footpath can be located in NW (left) corner between trees. Follow it North across valley floor before ascending Coppull Hill. Enjoy the views East to Winter Hill.
17 : km 5.88 - alt. 88 m - 17Hic Bibi Reserve =>Enter Hic Bibi nature reserve and continue North.
18 : km 6.08 - alt. 95 m - 18Bibi Lane =>Take path East (right) along North side of Hic Bibi Reserve , over rail bridge and across farmland. Part of official path passes between pair of fences and is badly over grown so follow unoffical path parallel to it.
19 : km 7.28 - alt. 85 m - 19Hedge Tunnel =>Tunnel in hedge leads to stile. After stile take track North (left) then stile beside oak tree to footpath across corner of field.
20 : km 7.48 - alt. 86 m - 20Jolly Tar Lane =>Turn briefly East (right) along Jolly Tar Lame. Take care as there is no footpath and lane has bends.
21 : km 7.8 - alt. 82 m - 21Coppull Hall Lane =>Briefly turn NE (left) along Coppull Hall Lane to take footpath NE through woodland. Path runs parallel to North side of field.
22 : km 8.51 - alt. 65 m - 22Wigan Road =>Carefully cross Wigan Road to site entrance to sand pit. Take Northern track and follow it as it bends SE around the quarry and onto Sandy Lane.
23 : km 9.49 - alt. 97 m - 23Park Road =>Follow Park Road East (left) until reaching the Leeds Liverpool Canal .
24 : km 9.84 - alt. 92 m - 24Bridge Inn =>Take steps on South side (right) of bridge down to the towpath and follow it South (right).

Departure from Adlington (Lancashire)

This circular walk starts at Adlington to initially follow the Leeds Liverpool Canal before heading via Arley Wood to Worthington Lakes. The route then ascends over farmland to Hic Bibi Nature Reserve on the top of Coppull Hill giving extensive views over Winter Hall. The final section of the walk descends back to the canal.

Adlington Red Rock Circular

Departure from Adlington (Lancashire)

A circular walk starting from Adlington to briefly follow the bank of River Douglas before ascending onto disused rail track leading to Red Rock and onto School Lane with good 270 degree views over Winter Hill, Beacon and Billinge Fells. A series of footpaths and farm tracks cross farmland leading back to Adlington.

Rivington Gardens Circular

Departure from Rivington (Lancashire)

A circular walk starting from Rivington Information Center before following the Eastern side of Rivington Reservoir to Liverpool Castle then gently ascending to the site of Rivington Japanese gardens. Descent is via Levers Bridge and Rivington Hall back to start.

Crook Standish Circular

Departure from Wigan (Greater Manchester)

Circular Walk starting from sports ground in Crook then North onto Birley Pond, Birley & Elnup Woods exiting over Mill Brook to gently ascend to Birch Walk. The route then follows the boundary of Standish Park before heading back to start via Giants Hall Farm and Standish Wood Lane. Good views of Beacon Park and Winter Hill ridges from high points.

Great Hill from White Coppice

Departure from Heapey (Lancashire)

The walk starts from White Coppice cricket ground and follows the clockwise circular route via Wheelton Moor, Tockholes Plantation and Great Hill.

Shevington Standish Circular

Departure from Shevington (Greater Manchester)

6m mile circular route starting from Shevington crossing Mill Brook into Elnup Wood, From here the route makes its way via Standish Park to cross Mill Brook and M6 motorway onto Shevington Vale. Having made its way around the vale the route heads back to start over Gathurst Golf course.
