Woodman pub through Blue Bell woods and Ferry Meadows

The start is from the car park to the Woodman Pub and golf club. When you finish the walk, go to the pub for a drink and use the machine to record your car registration.

(S/E) Exit the car park onto the approach road and cross over and turn right. After 200 metres, follow the footpath to your left, keeping the golf course on your left. After about 350 metres, reach a junction.

(1) Turn right signposted Bluebell Wood, follow the pathway for 1.5 kilometres.

(2) Turn left to cross Ferry Bridge over the river Nene. Keep straight for about 400 metres to reach Gunwade Lake and turn left to follow the lake for about 600 metres.
There are always birds here, especially at migratory times, autumn and winter.

(3) Turn right to cross over with Overton Lake on your left. After about 300 metres, turn left to keep Overton Lake on your left. A further 800 metres brings you to the facilities at Ferry Meadows.

(4) Bear left again, keeping Overton Lake on your left. After about 600 metres, turn right to rejoin Nene Way.

(5) This takes you over the Bluebell Bridge, crossing the river Nene back to waymark (1). From here return to the car park keeping the golf course on your right.(S/E)

Paths are all good, but stout shoes/boots are recommended. Toilets etc. are at Ferry Meadows centre.
