Maenporth - Budock Water Circular

A circular walk starting and finishing at Maenporth, the car park is now pay and display.

The walk will follow designated footpaths, cross some roads, and also along residential pavements.

I have suggested this walk to be a 'Moderate' walk as there are some stiles to negotiate, and the time is also dependent on personal pace.

Description of the walk

(S/E) From the car park, head across the road, picking up the trail to the left of The Cove, in a West-South-West direction. The track runs parallel with a driveway. The track will lead uphill, it will work its way up through, field and farmland, for 2.25km to Perwarne Barton

(1) From Penwarne Barton the route will continue to the North-East, along the track and across fields, care when crossing any roads, for approx 2.5 km.

(2) Turning right down the lane around the back of houses, Budock Water, approx 750m.

(3) Crossing the main road, with care, and continuing down the lane opposite for 2 km.

(4) At the roundabout turn left. The route now continues down through a residential estate. At the bottom of the hill, turn right at the meadow, which leads onto Swanpool and the lake. Handrail the Pool to Swanpool Beach. Pick up the coast path and wooded footpath, approx 2.5 km.

(5) At the Monument, continue along the designated coastal path, part of the long-distance South West Coast Path, for another 2km to the starting point (S/E)
