Description of the walk

You can park your vehicle in the car park in front of the entrance to the Volx campsite.

(S/E) Walk up from the car park and turn left (west). At the fork, continue on your left. Pass the first path on your right.

(1) Then take the second path on the right, a beautiful, steep path that goes straight up. At the top, turn left.

(2) At the crossroads, turn right and then right twice. At the top, you will see the sign "Margaridètes altitude 660 m".

(3) Turn right towards the descent. At the bottom, be careful not to cross the stream (often dry).

(4) Stay on the same side. At the next intersection, continue straight ahead on Chemin des Patis. You will arrive directly opposite your car park (S/E).

We are in Volx, a village known throughout Europe for its climbing walls. The Margaridètes are made up of rocks formed by alternating marl and limestone dating from the Lower Cetacean period.

Thank you for this route. We did the hike today in the direction indicated, and I think that's preferable because the views of the Durance valley are beautiful during the last part of the route. Indeed, the elevation gain doesn't seem correct. The app showed me 250 m. The gradual climb is therefore not very difficult. The route is well shaded.
It's true that part of the descent is rocky and requires a bit of caution, but it's only a short distance. I also think the duration should be re-evaluated: we did it in two hours without going very fast.
I thought the trail would pass through the Fontamaurri ravine from point 4, but the trail is above it and the ravine is hidden by trees. However, at point 4, you pass by a small, really pleasant pool of water. It's about the size of a large household basin today. At this point, there was a little water in the stream, but then a few metres further on, it dries up very quickly.
We really enjoyed the little paths and trails that pass through the olive groves.
I used the GPX track, which was accurate, so I can't comment on the route description.

I followed the trail in the opposite direction. There are some beautiful sections and views, but the path is quite rocky and downhill in places, so it's better to watch your step than admire the scenery.
I didn't get the same elevation gain (100 m less) that I checked on the map.
Thank you for the route.
