Description of the walk

Depart from Voissières, at the campsite, taking the same road as the day before.

(S) Head towards "Vallée de Chaudefour" at the entrance to the campsite (signposted in yellow). Follow the road west, go around a few bends and continue along a small road, passing through the hamlet of La Guièze.

(1) At the crossroads, take the road opposite (west). At the triple junction, follow the road on the right and go around the holiday village on the right. At the road, turn right until you reach the Chambon-des-Neiges car park.

(2) At the end of the car park, continue west and, at the fork, follow the path on the right. Cross a stream, head east-southeast and then take a sharp right turn. Climb up to a fork.

(3) Take the path on the right and continue until you reach a barrier. After the barrier, take the first right to reach the Veille plain at the foot of the Chaudefour Valley ridges.

(4) At the crossroads of four paths, turn right (west-northwest).

(5) Follow the fence that marks the boundary of the Nature Reserve. Head north-north-west across the meadows, crossing electric fences. You will come out onto the D36 road.

(6) Follow the road to the left.

(7) Go through the Col de la Croix Saint-Robert and join the crossroads ofthe GR®®4andPR®® de la Cascade.

(8) Turn left onto thePR®® (2nd on the left) towards La Grande Cascade and Mont Dore (signposted in yellow). Reach the viewpoint offering a pleasant view of Mont Dore and the Dordogne valley, then the Grande Cascade.

(9) Continue downhill on a good path. Cross the D36 and head north-northwest.

(10) Before the spa, turn left. Take Rue Raymond, then turn right onto Rue Meynadier. Further on, turn left onto Rue du 19 Mars 1962. At the roundabout, continue straight ahead. Turn right to reach the Hautes Pierres stopover lodge (E).
