A short walk to the banks of the Yon, starting from the Mairie de Chaillé bus stop, featuring the ruins of the old Moulin du Furet on its island in the middle of the river. A round-trip walk. In this little corner of nature, you can spot dragonflies, kingfishers, various fish and more.

Description of the walk

For bus access, see the section: Practical Information. Car parking available near the town hall.

(S/E) Follow Rue de la Mairie to Place de l’Église.

(1) Go round the church on the right, then turn left into Rue des Prés Martin and continue along the path that follows it. You will reach Chemin du Furet.

(2) Continue straight ahead, turn left and cross the Yon via the footbridge.

(3) Turn right and walk to the end of the eastern tip of Île du Furet (picnic table).

(4) Turn back.

(3) Turn right and head towards the ruins of the Moulin du Furet. Continue on and, via a circular loop to the left, reach a spot offering an interesting view of the Yon.

(5) Turn back towards the mill ruins.

(3) Cross the Yon via the footbridge and, following the route back in the opposite direction to the outward journey, return to the town hall in Chaillé-sous-les-Ormeaux (S/E).
