Practical information

The route can be adapted to suit the abilities of each individual. The more experienced will continue past the Porte de la Forêt for a loop in the Forêt Verte (not described in this route), even if it means taking public transport for the return journey. Beginners can shorten the route by turning back earlier.

Bring water, walking gear and a hat. The climbs on this route will prepare you for other routes to discover the Rouen region.

In the nearby area

The route takes in the Fond du Val site, the last remaining evidence of rural life in the city. The ruins of the former St Jacques priory are a reminder of local history, and the Square Jacques Lanfry offers a fine view over Rouen. The urban route, between quiet streets and green areas, leads to the entrance to the Forêt Verte.
