Description of the walk

In Trizac, park in the cemetery car park, south of the village, accessible via the D678, towards the stadium-lodge-stud farm.

(S/E) Go back up the D678 and set off with the cemetery on your left, towards the village.

(1) Ignore a street on the right (Cité Saint-Beauzire, to be followed on the way back), then a street on the left and, at the fork in the road, keep left towards the church (D30). Take the third street on the right at the fork to arrive immediately at the town hall square (fountain, church).

(2) Follow Rue du Lavoir to the right (artisan biscuit factory, wash house), turn right at the intersection (D678). Ignore the street on the right, then keep right at the fork and stay on this street until the intersection with Rue Cité Saint-Beauzire on the left: on the left, sign for the Bois du Fayet hike, blue markings, follow these.

(1) Turn left and follow this road to the crossroads.

(3) Continue straight ahead, slightly to the left. Ignore a road on the left further on. Pass the place called Le Château, continue on the short path that extends the road and, at the T-junction, turn right and walk about a hundred metres along the road (D30).

(4) Turn left onto a path. Descend into the Marilhou valley.

(5) Take the footbridge to cross the stream and go up the other side, keeping to the left. At the T-junction, go left and you will come to a road.

(6) Follow it to the right for about 50 metres, then, at the first house in the hamlet of Le Fayet, take the path on the right.

(7) At the T-junction, keep left. At the fork in the path, keep right and cross the stream again. Climb up the other side and join a road (D678).

(8) Cross over and follow the small road opposite for about 50 metres, then take a path on the right and continue uphill. Stay on this path until you reach the Haras de Trizac.

(9) Leave the path leading to the stadium on your right and continue straight ahead, along the pond on your right, to return to the car park near the cemetery (S/E).

The first part of the route is not shaded, but then it goes through the woods. If you want to shorten the route, you don't have to do the first circular loop that takes you into the village (which has a very good artisan biscuit shop). Best done in good weather, otherwise the ground remains wet and slippery.
