La Montagnoune or the little mountain of Trizac

The Montagnoune (little mountain) walk invites you to discover the authentic landscapes around Trizac, with paths crossed by streams, peaceful meadows and typical Haut Cantal farmhouses. Along the route, panoramic views open up onto the knoll of Suc, the majestic Chaîne des Puys and the Puy de Sancy, offering an immersion in unspoilt nature and vast volcanic landscapes.

Description of the walk

Start at the town hall square.

(S/E) Walk past the church and turn right onto Rue des Tiolets, passing a junction. At the next junction, follow the path to the right before reaching another junction.

(1) Keep to the left. Follow the path, cross a stream and continue to the first Fork in the road on the right.

(2) Take the track on the right and head towards the Montagnoune junction.

(3) Stay on the track until the next junction.

(4) Continue along the track to the right and return to the junction from the outward journey.

(1) Turn left and return to the starting point by following the route in the opposite direction to the outward journey (S/E).
