Valais Day 4: Refuge de la Sage - Cabane Bella Tola (La Sage Lodge - Bella Tola Hut)

(S) Start from "gîte de la Sage" (La Sage Lodge) and begin a long paved uphill climb towards Prés de Villaz (S).

You'll then get to solid ground and follow the long windy bends through Cotter alpine pasture (1) leading to Torrent Pass (2916 m) (2).

Start a long hike down towards Moiry Lake. A quick stop at the great Autannes Lake allows for a small break on this trip which then continues through the Torrent alpine pasture (4) linked to a forest path at the Moiry dam (5).

Catch the busses heading to Grimentz, Vissoie then Saint-Luc. In Saint-Luc take a ride on the cable car down to the upper station (6).

Take a perfectly waymarked (sign posts) path towards the large Bella Tola hut (7), marking the end of this stage.

Water in the streams, needs to be purified.
No shelter but opportunity to have a break at Autannes Lake.
Food and beverage at Moiry Lake.
Remember, buses here are on time and won't wait so take into account bus timetables, you must arrive in Saint-Luc before the last cable car leaves.

Le Cervin: located right in front of you, one of the highlights of the day will be relaxing on the Bella Tola hut terrace (7) to admire it.
