This walk is part of the trek Trek from Fionay to Saas-Fee.
An unusual stage today: it starts with a downhill hike before a long climb uphill, a second descent and a ski lift ride followed by a walk over flatland and a bus ride to the lodge.

Description
Reaching the beginning of the trail (D) leave the Alpenpässe path to the left and take the downhill trail towards a path overlooking "Lac des Dix" (1).
Get to the lake's vast platform and its impressive hotel (2). Then start a downhill hike leaving the windy road heading to the lake to the right-hand side.
(3) Take to trail leading to Méribé pasture (4). Follow this trail heading north until you get to Noveli pasture (5).
Head due east and after a few tight bends, swerve south-east smoothly reaching Meina or Méribé Pass (6).
Start the hike down due north-east, then east, crossing Pas d'Arpilles (7); then heading in a north-east direction which leads you to Lana upper ski lift station (8). Catch the ski lift taking you down to Lana (9).
Locate the large path leading to Evolène bus station (10). Take a ride on the bus to get to La Sage lodge ("gîte de La Sage") (11).

A high mountain stage which requires hiking boots with crampons to cross the Arolla glacier. You should get an early start for this long stage of the hike.






A long climb to Torrent Pass before reaching Moiry Lake, then Saint-Luc by bus, Tignousa by cable car and finally Bella Tola by foot.
Think about correcting the distance indicated by points (5) et (6) : you need to deduct 10 km.
