Departure from the car parks near the church in Mas-de-Tence.
Yellow markings are not very visible
(S/E) From the church and town hall in Mas-sur-Tence, take Rue des Écoles and leave Rue du Houx on your left.
(1) At the intersection, keep slightly to the left as you climb. The tarmac quickly gives way to a dirt track, the Chemin du Geay. Take the left-hand path uphill at the fork. This leads into a large pine forest, climbing slightly. Stay on the busiest path downhill towards the stream until you reach a small lane.
(2) Turn right onto Chemin de la Béate, which crosses the hamlet of Plantespinas. Turn right onto Route de Plantespinas and follow it for 250 metres, ignoring the turn-off to the right leading to a farm, then turn right onto Chemin des Hyversets. Stay on this path, ignoring a turn-off on the right. Walk along the hedge on your left.
(3) At the fork, continue straight ahead on the grassy path, ignoring the turn-off to the left at the next fork. Continue downhill, cross the stream and ignore the turn-off to the right.
(4) At the crossroads, do not take the paved lane opposite, but turn right onto the well-marked dirt lane and follow it, ignoring the side lanes, until you reach a place called Le Crouzet. Pass the first house on your left.
(5) After about 50 metres, leave the tarmac road and take a path on the right.
(6) At the fork, keep left downhill, then cross the stream over the bridge and join the Chemin de Coteret uphill. Turn left at the intersection and stay on this partially paved lane, ignoring the side roads. The lane becomes paved as you approach Mas-de-Tence.
(1) At the crossroads, continue straight on Rue des Écoles, which you took on the way there, to return to the church, the starting point of the walk (S/E).
