Park at the Lac de Devesset leisure centre, but please note that there is an entrance fee from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., so arrive before then.
(S/E) Walk north along the lake, cross the leisure centre, the beach and the playground, and take thePR® (white and yellow) signposted path that runs alongside the campsite below (be careful not to take the path that goes around the lake).
(1) Cross the paved road (D9) and immediately after, turn left, slightly uphill. At the first intersection, turn right, continuing slightly uphill. At the second intersection, turn left and continue to the top of the hill.
(2) Turn left at a 90° angle, follow the pine plantation and you will arrive just above the village of Devesset (3 crosses + bench on your right). Go downhill and cross the village alongside the church.
Arrive at the square and cross the D9 road.
(3) Pass the large hiking map sign and turn right, continuing to follow the white/yellow markings. Pass a covered basin (water not drinkable) and continue straight ahead on a slightly downhill track.
(4) Then take a smaller track, heading west to the right. Go through the forest. At the end of the forest, take the path on the right and pass under the Goujon house. You will then arrive at the top of some beautiful fields. Follow the downhill track to arrive in front of the farm and then cross the tarmac road.
(5) Go between the two farm buildings (still following the white/yellow markings) to continue along the track through the cultivated fields. Continue down a final descent into the forest.
(6) Then follow this wide track to the left for about 350 metres until you reach the lowest point of the hike.
(7) Go back up to the left, taking the small track in the forest. Pass close to Les Baraques. Keep going straight ahead, following the white/yellow markings. Join a small tarmac road, follow it straight ahead, pass Les Sapins and arrive at a place called Les Sables. Continue on the tarmac road, straight ahead for about 300m.
(8) Leave the tarmac road via a small track on the left which joins the Mayfraiches stopover lodge. You will then see Lac de Devesset below you on the left. Continue straight ahead, following the white/yellow markings.
(9) At the T-junction, turn left, descend towards the lake and join the footpath that goes around it. Cross the dam and turn left to reach the leisure centre under the pine trees. There are some beautiful picnic spots and swimming areas (S/E).
