A short trip to Hour

(S/E) Starting from the small Maupas car park next to the bridge over the Lesse opposite Houyet station, the walk enters the forest directly and takes the deserted cul-de-sac road to the old Ferme de Harroy.
(1) The route crosses the old Harroy Farm (continue straight ahead between the buildings), then the RAVeL via the bridge and joins it by going down the path to the right. Then take this RAVeL to the right towards the east.
(2) A little further along the RAVeL de la Lesse, the route turns right into the countryside for a few kilometres, which are well ventilated or sunny depending on the weather.
(3) After passing the hamlet of Lissoir, then Havenne (4) and skirting the Cheneau (Grande Hour) cabin district (5), the route enters the forest again, in the Bois du Roi, until it reaches Petite Hour (7).
Petite Hour is a good kilometre away from the RAVeL: a bit of woodland, a bit of countryside, a bit of the banks of the Lesse (8).
Return to the starting point via the RAVeL, which the walk follows in the opposite direction from (2) the section taken on the way there to Houyet station (9).
Calves, cows, pigs – here there are rather abundant traces of wild boar and deer – and horses are more likely to be seen, not to mention the work of the master beaver, who sharpens his teeth shortly before km 13.

A few picnic tables along the RAVeL (Réseau Autonome des Voies Lentes, the Walloon equivalent of the French Voies Vertes).
All (small) shops and a few catering establishments near Houyet station.
The Ferme de Harroy restaurant is now closed (autumn 2025).
No shops, water points or catering establishments on the rest of the route.
There is a small flower garden with a bench and low wall, ideal for a lunch break (6) in Petite Hour.
