Car park at Houyet station.
(S/E) The station entrance is on your left; head towards the road. Turn left and cross the level crossing. Ignore the road on your left and continue straight ahead. Cross over the Lesse and look for the path on your left.
GR® 129 and 126 markings
(1) Turn left and, at the house, continue left. Walk along the Lesse. Go under the railway and continue to thesecond underpass.
(2) Discover the old Halte Royale d'Ardenne building. Pass under the railway line and continue along the river. Pass the place known as Halte d'Ardenne. The path turns right. Look for a concrete bridge on your left.
(3) Cross this bridge and immediately turn left. Pass the place known as Confluent Iwoigne et Lesse. Take the metal ladder and follow the narrow path made of roots and rocks. It quickly becomes easier. 630 metres further on, look for an embankment on your right.
(4) Climb up the embankment to discover a silted pond and a beautiful waterfall. You may see herons here and, if you walk along the pond a little, traces of beavers. Go back down and continue along the path running alongside the Lesse until you reach a fork (not shown on maps).
(5) Continue to the left and walk to the stairs. Take them and, at the railway line, turn left. Go down and pass under the bridge. Return to the Lesse and walk to an intersection.
(6) Continue straight ahead until you reach another intersection with a tunnel on your right. Continue straight ahead. Walk along an escarpment, go around a fallen tree and walk to another set of steps.
(7) Go up and, at the top, keep left and go down. When you reach the Lesse again, turn right. Further on, ignore the path on your right. Pass through a clearing and walk to a fork.
(8) Continue left at a place called Chérau. You will see a young deciduous tree plantation. Then walk along the fence of a meadow. Cross over a stream. Climb the stairs and at the top, near the railway, descend to the left. Continue along the Lesse to a chalet/chip shop. Climb up to its right to rejoin the road and the place called Gendron-Gare. Separation from theGR® 126.
GR® 129 signposting
(9) Turn right and follow theGR® 129. Pass under the railway line one last time. Ignore the road on the right and cross the car park. At the end of the car park, continue along the N910 until you reach the junction with the road towards Gendron, at a place called Ruisseau des Forges Gendron Gare.
(10) Turn left, cross carefully and go over the small bridge over the Ruisseau des Forges. Continue to the left and go uphill. The path turns to the right. Ignore the path on your left further up. Leave the woods. Walk along a meadow on your right, then a field, and continue uphill to the crossroads.
(11) Turn right. The path then turns left. At the next crossroads, take the hairpin bend to the right. Walk for 1.1 km in open country. The path turns left and then enters the woods. The path turns right and then left. Continue downhill, ignoring the path on your right, until you reach the road.
(12) Turn left. Walk up the road to the fork at Hubermont. Turn right. Walk up and, at the property, continue left to the intersection. Change ofGR®.
GR® 575 signpost
(13) Turn right and go down the lane. Go up the main path to the road and its magnificent oak tree. Turn right. Enter the town of Celles. View in the distance of the Hermitage and the Statue of Saint Hadelin.
(14) At the crossroads, cross the N910 with caution. Continue straight ahead along Rue Saint-Hadelin. Ignore the road on the left and continue to the next intersection.
(15) Turn right towards the collegiate church. Cross the stream at the Fontaine Saint-Hadelin. Pass the entrance to the collegiate church and continue left at the crossroads. On your right, you will see the Way of the Cross and the steps leading to the hermitage. Do not take them, but continue along the road to the N94.
(16) Cross diagonally to the right, taking care at all times. At the crossroads, known as Les Rèches Voies, turn right into the no-entry lane. Change of signposting.

Walk to the Grande Croix.
(17) Turn left. Walk past an old sandpit, follow the path and exit the woods. Walk in the open until you reach the road. Continue straight ahead. At the intersection, ignore the signpost on the right and continue along the road until you reach the bend with the dirt tracks, then pick up the signpost again at a place called Grande Tussogne.
(18) Head slightly to the right, not in a hairpin bend. Go downhill, pass in front of a chalet and enter the forest. Ignore the tracks on your right. The marked path turns and climbs.
(19) At the fork (not on OSM), turn right and then keep left. At the crossroads (not entirely on OSM), continue straight ahead. Pick up a sunken path and descend it to the left. Back on a forest path, turn left until you reach the corner of the meadow.
(20) Turn right. Walk along the meadow, with the woods on your right, and climb uphill. Come out into the open. At the road, continue straight ahead and enter Custinne until you reach the crossroads near the church. Change of markings.
GR® 577 signposting
(21) Turn right. At the oratory, turn left into the dead-end road. Keep to your right. At the cemetery, turn right and walk along the dog agility course until you reach the road.
(22) Continue to the left. The road becomes a dirt track. Ignore the path (not shown on maps) on your left. Turn right and cross the Iwoigne via the bridge. At the crossroads, turn right and walk to the fork.
(23) Turn left and go uphill. Stay on the main path until you reach the N94, ignoring the adjacent paths. Cross carefully and continue straight ahead for 800 m until you reach the crossroads at Parc d'Ardenne.
(24) Continue straight ahead and descend to the road. Continue to the right.
(1) Return to the station (S/E).
