Description of the walk

Starting from the old cemetery in Sart-Dames-Avelines, the route follows the village's connecting paths and then heads into the countryside towards the Rigenée Golf Course and Le Châtelet, now renamed Domaine des Trois Tilleuls.
After passing through a place called Les Quatre Chênes, the walk crosses the centre of Villers-la-Ville and climbs the hill behind the abbey, where it becomes a forest walk for about 10 kilometres.
From Villers-la-Ville Abbey itself, the walk only allows you to see the Porte de Namur. You will need to make a small detour (at km 8) to see its splendour. Otherwise, a visit before or after is of course possible during the site's opening hours.
After crossing the Bois de l'Ermitage and passing by the old Chevelipont Mill, the walk enters the Bois d'Hez and joins the path that runs alongside the Ry d'Hez. At km 11.1, the route proposed here branches off and goes back up into the forest. At this point, it is possible to continue straight on and rejoin the route at km 14.2... but beware of mud or water in wet weather: trail no. 83T is sometimes flooded and impassable.
On the way back, after km 15, walkers can take a short break and admire a beautifully decorated garden before discovering the work of the beavers.
