Take the Place de la Gare exit on the side of platform 1. If you arrive on another platform, take the underground passage.
No signposts
(S/E) Cross Place de la Gare and take Avenue Fernand Fourcade opposite, towards the police station and the post office. Continue straight ahead, past the police station, up a gentle slope and past the post office. At the next crossroads, takethe second left, the D64 towards Maffliers, leaving the market on your left. Pass the town hall, turn right then left onto the D64, pass the church on your right and you will come to a roundabout.
(1) Then follow the D24 to the right. Take thefirst left, Rue aux Loups. Stay on this street, which turns right and then left.
Yellow markings
At the entrance to a hotel residence, continue straight ahead on a sunken path downhill. At the bottom, return to the tarmac, ignore a car park on the right and continue opposite Rue de la Ferme.
(2) At the roundabout, take thesecond right, Rue de la Forêt. At the end, turn left onto Rue Notre-Dame des Champs, and you will soon reach the church of the same name and the town hall/school. Turn right and walk alongside the church on your right.
No signposts
At the end of the church, turn right onto Rue du Four. At the crossroads, turn right and continue to the roundabout.
(2) Continue straight on the D64 towards L'Isle-Adam. It is best to use the pavement and then the right-hand shoulder for better visibility after leaving Maffliers (
n narrow shoulder). Turn into thefirst left, an access road to a riding centre.
(3) Immediately afterwards (earlier than the IGN map suggests), turn right onto a path blocked by a chicane made of large tree trunks. At a fork (not shown on the map), take the left-hand path. Cross several wet passages or go around them in the undergrowth, preferably on the left-hand side. After about 250 m, the path turns left (it does not continue straight ahead as shown on the IGN map).
(4) At the crossroads, turn right onto a wider, less wet path. At a fork (not shown on the IGN map), veer left. Pass by an isolated beech and oak tree and cross a perpendicular path. Go around a low wall on the left and you will come to a crossroads (plot no. 53). Then take a wide path to the north-west that starts behind a forest barrier and descend gently.
Yellow markings
At the crossroads (elevation 140), continue straight ahead and climb slightly. At the next crossroads, turn left onto a wide gravel path between plots nos. 51 and 49 (ignore the arrow of a secondPR® sign pointing to the right). Soon you will walk along a fence on your left.
No markings
(5) At the information panel about the Tilleul des Bonshommes, leave the path on the right, cross a stream via a footbridge and follow a path, leaving the lime tree and a pond on your right. Continue uphill on a wider path. At the top, note some beautiful beech trees. At the crossroads (plot no. 48), go straight ahead and note a pond some distance away on the right. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead (bridle path) and descend.
(6) At the crossroads, turn sharply left (south) and continue downhill. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead. Cross a very sparse forest, pass a forest barrier and come out onto the D9 road.
(7) Cross the road (take care), pass a chicane (plot no. 62) and continue along a path that winds through the undergrowth. Pass at the foot of a tree marked with plot no. 61 and continue straight ahead (south-west). This will take you to a crossroads (plots nos. 61, 62 and 64).

(8) Turn left and, at the fork immediately ahead, take the right-hand path, which is the most obvious. Cross a clearing and walk along the right-hand side of a ditch with fields beyond. Ignore all the paths on the left. Enter the undergrowth again. Cross the ditch when it turns left and walk along the fence of a private property on your right.
No markings
(9) At a crossroads, go straight ahead and ignore the arrow pointing to the right (the IGN map is approximate here). Follow a grassy path north-northeast and ignore all the tracks on either side. Go through a forest gate and cross the D9 road again (take care).

(10) Go through a metal gate and follow a tarmac lane which soon gives way to a wide gravel path. At the next crossroads, turn right between plots nos. 50 and 56. Go downhill, cross a stream and you will come to another crossroads.
(11) Follow thePR®IA3to the right. After a short descent, turn left (wet passage). Go up a path with a private property fence on the right-hand side. At a fork, turn right, still following the fence. At the next intersection, turn right again. Walk along an old ruined wall on your left, then pass under an old stone bridge. Pass through a metal gate and continue on the tarmac road.
(12) At the next intersection, turn sharply left and follow a path that enters the forest (plot no. 88). Soon turn right and, at the fork that appears immediately, take the path on the left in plot no. 88. At the next crossroads (elevation 173), take thefirst path on the right. Ignore a path on the right (house) and continue eastwards.
No markings
(13) At the stump on the left-hand side, take a very discreet path on the right (be careful to spot this start). Go downhill, go around a low wall on the right and come out onto a path (Sente de Derrière les Moulins on the map). Follow this path to the left, pass a bench and continue between two stone walls. Pass under a footbridge and continue between two walls. Pass under a second footbridge.
(14) At the next intersection, turn right between two fences and descend. Go through a wooden gate and note a manor house on the left. At the bottom (note the old presbytery opposite), turn left onto Rue de Pontoise and walk past the entrance to the manor house. At the Place des Tilleuls crossroads, turn left, still on Rue de Pontoise, to reach the roundabout opposite the church in Montsoult.
(1) Leave the church on your left and follow the D64 towards the station. At the roundabout at the corner of the market, take thesecond right, still on the D64 towards the station. Continue straight ahead until you reach Monsoult-Maffliers station (S/E).
To return home:
- Transilien - Line K, towards Paris Nord or Persan-Beaumont or Luzarches.
