Chalon Chapel from the Chemin du Liby
A lovely route through woodland for the most part. You can start by crossing the Pont de Sardagne via a path running alongside a small ravine, to the right of which you’ll find a few small, typical stone houses, recently restored by a local association. You’ll follow sections ofthe GR®42andPR®.
This path will take you to the well-known Chapelle de Chalon, built 800 years ago. A few young couples who love nature and heritage still get married there on fine days.
The return route takes you through the Combe des Acacias, passing at the foot of the magnificent Banc des Novis. Much of the route follows a (dry) stream with beautiful limestone paving.
Haut Darbousset and the discovery trail
A circular walk, alternating between tarmac and forest tracks. You’ll be able to explore two magnificent drystone shelters that have been beautifully restored. The nature trail takes you right up to the beautiful stone-paved section of the Sardagne stream.
Drystone shelters and the Tourne Valley
A circular route that takes you from one drystone shelter to another on the heights of Bourg-Saint-Andéol, offering lovely panoramic views of the Rhône Valley, Mont Ventoux and the Provençal Baronnies, before returning via the charming Val de Tourne. As the return leg is partly through an urban area – albeit on quiet roads – this route should be avoided in very hot weather. It is best to walk it after periods of rain, which will have fed the Tourne and its Vaucluse resurgence.
The route, which largely follows the GR®42, also features yellow and white PR® signposting. As the path through the drystone shelters can be somewhat unpredictable, the use of a GPS is recommended.
A circular walk starting from Saint-Montan
A lovely ride along the back roads of the Ardèche, a blissful experience of tranquillity. A short stretch of forest track, perfectly manageable on a hybrid bike, but there’s an alternative tarmac road if your bike isn’t suited to gravel.
A short circular walk through the Vallon de Tourne and the drystone shelters
A short circular route taking you from one drystone shelter to the next (drystone shelters) on the hills above Bourg-Saint-Andéol, offering lovely panoramic views of the Rhône Valley, Mont Ventoux and the Provençal Baronnies, before returning via the charming Val de Tourne. This route, which is partly a return walk, is a shorter version of the ‘Capitelles and Val de Tourne’ route published previously. It largely avoids the built-up area but then allows time, from the starting car park, to explore the historic centre of Bourg-Saint-Andéol.

Greenway from Le Teil to Alba
The greenway was inaugurated in December 2025, for the section from Le Teil to the old Alba-la-Romaine railway station, at least supposedly. Bring a light ( headlamp or other) to go through three tunnels, one of which is 900 m long.
