Start: From the cable car stations below the chalet refuge.
(S/E) Turn right on the Mont Blanc GRP® trail, Grand Balcon Sud. Cross a short, equipped chimney, cross a wide combe occupied by scree and reach the forest.
Continue on the Grand Balcon Sud, which rises again in altitude (leave the path leading down to Chamonix). Cross the Montagne de la Parsa and, after a detour, pass behind the Altitude 2000 chalet-restaurant before reaching Planpraz.
(1) Behind the ski lift, climb North/North-West along the path.
(2) Halfway up, leave the path leading to the Clochers de Planpraz on the right and, after a series of switchbacks, reach the Col du Brévent.
(3) At the Col, head West and climb the north side of Le Brévent between two rocky ridges. A steep but equipped rocky passage gives access to the brèche. A short distance up the ski run leads to the summit of Le Brévent.
(4) At the top of Le Brévent, climb up to the panoramic terrace, which offers various explanations of the Mont Blanc massif. Then descend through scree into the combe behind the ridge. Continue flat through a mineral landscape, then downhill again to reach a large cairn above the Refuge de Bellachat. Reach the refuge and the Bellachat trail junction (S/E).
