Ménez Roc’h Meur walk starting from the Notre-Dame d’Illijour Chapel

Park in the car park at the Chapel of Notre-Dame d’Illjour.

(S/E) Take the path to the right of the wayside cross. Pass under the power line. At^{the first} junction, turn right, then pass under the fallen tree and turn right. At the end of the field, turn right to join the Chemin de Goarem Kerdrein.

(1) Turn left onto this path and follow it, passing Goarem Kerdrein. Cross a road and turn onto the Chemin de Rosterien ar Wouez. You’ll reach a crossroads with four perpendicular roads.

(2) Turn left onto Route du Wouez until you reach the Stop sign. Continue straight ahead to reach the Goarem Kerhervé crossroads.

(3) Turn left onto Chemin de Ty Nevez Garnilis. After the houses, turn right onto the sunken lane, follow the hedgerows, then veer left to reach the small hamlet of Lanvivan.

(4) Turn left onto the wide track and, further on, you’ll come to a four-way crossroads.

(5) Turn left – take care here: after about 300 m, go through the gate on the left, then follow the path, keeping to the right at every junction. Cross the embankment, then continue to the left to join the road at Ménez Roc’h Meur.

(6) Head down to the right; after passing some houses, you’ll come to a crossroads between the fields.

(7) Take the path on the left and you’ll reach the edge of a woodland.

(8) Cross the embankment, then take the path on the right until you reach the Route de Ti Nevez Cosquer.

(9) Turn left onto it and follow it back to the car park at the Chapel of Notre-Dame d’Illjour (S/E).

You can park near the wayside cross at the entrance to the chapel grounds.

Between (1) and (2): on the right, you can take the Route de Garnilis for 400 m to visit the Chapel of Saint-Sébastien.
Before (3): you can take the road on the right to reach the Chapel of Garnilis, about 400 m away.
(5) You can head down opposite towards the Chapel of Saint-Venec, about 1 km away, by taking the path on your right.
