Walk around the Esmoriz lagoon

Park along Rua de Péro Alenquer before setting off along the footbridges.

(S/E) Head straight ahead onto the Pacadicos de Esmoriz footpath. Continue along this path until you reach a right-angled junction at the entrance to the lagoon.

(1) Turn right, heading due south. Walk alongside the lagoon until you reach a fork leading into the lagoon.

(2) Turn left and continue through the reeds until you reach a viewing point overlooking the lagoon.

(3) Return to the previous crossroads.

(2) Take the Pacadicos de Esmoriz path on the left, start turning left and reach the Rio Lambo stream.

(4) Cross it and continue the circular loop to the left. Carry on northwards and, at the northernmost point, rejoin the Rio Lamas.

(5) Pass the footbridge on your right and continue along the edge of the lagoon until you reach another footbridge.

(6) Turn left here, cross the bridge and return to the junction you passed on the way out.

(1) Turn right and follow the route back in the opposite direction to return to the car park on Rua de Péro Alenquer (S/E).

The entire walk is step-free and is therefore accessible to wheelchair users, which we have tested.
You can start the walk from various points (2), (5), where you can also park your car.
The walk can be done in either direction.
There is no shade, so make sure you protect yourself from the sun on hot days.
