Park in the car park (free) opposite the church on the E10 road.
(S/E) Take the street at the beginning of the car park to the right with the church behind you. This quickly turns into a path that climbs above a few houses. When you reach a small track, continue straight ahead.
(1) A few metres further on, turn right onto a path that climbs gently through the blueberry bushes. This quickly overlooks Prestvatnet (lake) and descends to its outlet.
(2) Cross the stream, ignore the path climbing up to the right and shortly afterwards, turn right onto a steep climb through the woods. The path is very steep and you may need to use your hands to help you. Once out of the forest, make one last effort to reach the summit on a slightly slippery path. Don't hesitate to catch your breath while contemplating the view of Kabelvåg behind you.
(3) At the summit, make a round trip to the eastern end of this mountain with its bird's eye view of the Vestfjord. To do this, descend to the right via a narrow passageway. A chain is provided to make this slightly tricky but not very exposed section easier and safer. Then follow the path straight ahead to the end.
(4) Retrace your steps back up to the summit.
(3) Then descend straight down the north-west face via a path strewn with rocks that are sometimes wet and therefore slippery. Take care.
Continue along this well-marked path which descends into the forest. At the end of the path, you will come out onto a track facing an isolated building.
(5) Turn right, then cross a path and descend to the left until you reach a barrier.
(6) Once you have passed the barrier, go up to the left and descend towards Prestvatnet. Stay on the main path, which goes around the lake on the right for a long time, and you will come to a small cycle path.
(7) Follow it for a few dozen metres to the left, where you can take a break under a shelter by the lake. Otherwise, turn right onto a wooden deck that crosses a wetland and joins the fork at the start of the hike.
(1) Continue straight ahead to return to the starting point via the same route as at the beginning of the hike (S/E).
