Description de la randonnée

Start: The Badgers, Wood Baughurst (RG26 5JH) Grid ref. SU 579 618

(S/E) Leave the pub towards the village, cross over to Heath End Road, then bear right into Bishopswood Road.

(1) In 250 yds, turn right onto a lane with a fairly ancient footpath sign (like several on this walk). This soon becomes a footpath, which you follow for about 600 yds till it comes out on a road.

(2) Turn left for 200 yds, then right to a marked footpath by a former chapel.

(3) In about 100 yds turn left onto another marked footpath, which you follow through a gate to another gate near a red brick house where the path goes right down a tree-lined path. Follow this between wood-fenced paddocks round several bends through a further gate and over a decrepit stile till in about 600 yds it comes out on a metalled lane.

(4) Cross this and take the metalled bridleway opposite which degenerates in 400 yds to a track. Where this bends right, turn left through a gate towards a field and follow the rather hummocky path through a wood to the right hand side of a barbed wire fence until a gate into a lane.

(5) Turn right, and right again at a footpath sign through a farm gate. The path is first grassy, then wooded, with a stream to the left.

(6) Cross a wooden footbridge, then follow along the left hand side of a paddock, through a gate, and then the right hand side of a field till it rises to join the drive of Little Ham Farm. Follow this left to the road.

(7) Turn right then left up another bridleway. In 150 yds, cross the (broken) stile and follow along the side of the racehorse gallop, veer slightly left and enter the wood at a footpath marker. Take the path to the right, and follow this for some 300 yds till it drops to a concrete slab footbridge.

(8) Cross this, then take the boardwalk to the right and follow up the hill past a larchlap fence on the right to a road.

(9) Turn right then left and follow the track uphill for 400 yds till it meets a road. Turn right for 300 yds to reach the pub.(S/E)
