Park in the square in front of the Romanesque church in Retournac.
(S/E) Take Rue de l'Hôpital (to the left of the café), then turn right onto Place du 11 Novembre. From there, go down to the left, past the entrance to the retirement home, and you will arrive at the Recourdoux car park.
(1) Turn left onto the dirt track alongside the car park. When you reach the tarmac, continue straight ahead. At the stop sign, turn left and follow the signs for Château d'Artias, passing over the tennis courts.
(2) After the tennis courts, leave the road that climbs uphill on your right and continue left on the road.
(3) Follow a rocky, rutted path that climbs uphill to the right. It ends overlooking the Maisons Cottier. At the bottom, the path runs alongside a house and comes out onto a paved road, which you should follow to the right for 200 metres.
Turn left onto the road to Vousse and follow it for 200 metres. Then turn left again onto a small paved road. Drive through the village of Vousse.
(4) Before the last houses, the road crosses a grassy path on the left (no entry sign at the entrance). Ignore this grassy path and continue along the road. After the last houses, turn left onto a path and climb towards the hamlet of Artias. At the entrance to the hamlet, turn left and climb up to the ruins of Artias Castle. After visiting the site, descend the paved road on the left towards the centre of the hamlet of Corset.
(5) At the bottom of the descent, at the Y-junction, facing a small stone wall marking the boundary of a property, turn right (do not follow the road on the left towards "Tarrier Artite") to see a small building on your right: a bread oven. Turn right onto the paved road behind the bread oven, which is lined on both sides by two electricity poles.
(6) Immediately afterwards, leave this road and take a paved path towards houses backing onto a stone barn with a grassy access ramp.
(7) Opposite a house with a straight chimney stack running the entire height of its gable, rejoin the road you left earlier and descend to the right.
(8) After numerous bends, leave this road and turn left onto a dirt track that climbs into the forest.
(9) When you reach the pastures on the ridge, turn right (do not continue straight ahead towards the D9 and the houses of the hamlet of Sainte Reine).
The road descends towards the houses in Orcier and comes out onto a road above the D9.
(10) Turn right, then right again onto Chemin des Traverses.
(11) Continue along the road on the ridge to descend towards Retournac. This will take you back to a road. Turn left to pass above the tennis courts.
(2). Then turn right onto Chemin de la Combe (opposite the entrance to Rue des Lilas) and return to the starting point (S/E).
