A short walk around Plum, easily accessible and offering stunning views of the sea and Mont Dore almost immediately. The route is short but follows a very stony path, so do make sure you wear sturdy footwear.

Description of the walk

Park at Plum Harbour.

(S/E) Walk down the Route du Sud to the junction with Rue Negandi, then walk all the way back up to reach the start of the wind turbine trail on the left.

(1) The path continues from Rue Négandi, opposite amongst the trees. The path isn’t wide but it’s clearly marked. It turns left before heading uphill to the right and then continuing to a junction with a trail.

(2) Do not follow the path you’ve just crossed, but carry on straight ahead along the small path directly opposite. You’ll cross this wide path several times; each time, carry on straight ahead.

(3) At the next junction, carry on straight ahead until you reach a small path on the right.

(4) Follow this path, continuing uphill alongside the power lines and their pylons. Enjoy the view throughout the climb. The path continues until you reach a sign reading ‘Military zone, no entry, live-fire exercises’.

(5) Turn back, taking care on the descent – the loose stones mean there’s a risk of slipping – and head back to the car park at Plum harbour (S/E).
