(S/E) Starting from the Plateau d'Argentine, at the crossroads, head south along the Route des Carriers for 200 metres.
(1) Follow this small steep path to the right, which crosses the old Angoulême - Marmande railway line, and arrive at the old Seguignas wash house. Join the road junction on the left, parallel to the D12.
(2) Cross the D12 with caution and head opposite towards the hamlet of Seguignas, keeping to the left after the stone cross.
(3) Cross the hamlet and continue south on the small road to Lutardias.
(4) Turn right, then at the crossroads, continue straight on towards the hamlet of Lagland. Enter the magnificent undergrowth planted with oaks and pines. Bordered by dry stone walls, this north-facing forest path leads to the hamlet of Fieux.
(5) Cross the hamlet of Fieux.
(6) At the junction with the tarmac road, take the hairpin bend to the right and pass in front of the cross. Under the imaginary gaze of the former lord, the Baron de Feuillade, you will arrive at the Fieux wash house.
(7) Continue to the D12, turn left and carefully follow it for 100 m towards La Rochebeaucourt. Cross it and climb a steep path to the ruins of the former castle of Lord Galard de Béarn.
(8) The Church of Saint-Martin awaits you a little further on, as well as some cluzeaux (cave shelters dug into the ground or carved into a rock face).
Continue straight ahead on the path: you will discover crosses, a cistern, an altar and even sarcophagi, witnesses to the rich history of Argentine over several centuries, before returning to the starting point (S/E).
