Description of the walk

(S/E) With your back to Valmondois station, turn left, then cross the level crossing. Continue until you reach the Café de la Gare.

(1) Turn left onto Rue des Violaines and follow it for 100 metres, then turn left.

(2) Turn right onto the old railway line. Cross Rue de Parmain, then pass under Rue du Bois Thibault. Continue straight ahead along the path.

(3) Cross the Grande Rue and continue straight ahead onto the Chemin de la Corderie; this road becomes a footpath. Follow it into the woodland. You’ll reach the Chemin de Bescherelle and walk past a few houses.

(4) At the junction, go straight on along the Chemin du Mont la Ville. Follow the Sausseron stream as you walk alongside the Grande Rue.

(5) Turn right onto Chemin de la Maisonnette and continue to Rue Dorée.

(6) Turn left, rejoin the Grande Rue and follow it to the right for about fifty metres. Turn right into Rue Georges Duhamel (D151). Pass the small road called Rue Léon Bernard on your right and continue straight ahead.

(7) Turn right at the sign for Verville (car park on the right) to visit the Vieux Moulin. Retrace your steps, then turn right into the woodland along the old railway line. You’ll rejoin the D151 at a three-way junction.

(8) Take the D151 to the right, cross the bridge over the Sausseron and continue to the first junction.

(9) Turn right onto Rue Martel Vauquelin, walk for about a hundred metres, then turn left onto the Sente de Parmain, which leads into the forest. You’ll reach a junction on the edge of the woods at a place called Les Flaches.

(10) Turn right onto Chemin de Pontoise.

(11) Cross a road, take the path opposite and then continue straight on, ignoring the turnings on either side. You’ll reach the junction with the Chemin des Vallées at the bottom of the hill.

(12) Take the Chemin des Vallées to the left, following the Sausseron stream at the foot of the Côte d’Orgivaux to reach Moulin-le-Roy.

(13) Continue to follow the River Sausseron for about a hundred metres, then turn left onto Boulevard de la Gare. Walk past Château d’Orgivaux until you reach a junction with traffic lights.

(14) Take the street on the right for about 20 metres, then turn left to stay on Boulevard de la Gare.

(1) Carry on straight ahead to return to the starting point (S/E).
