Description of the walk

Departure from Valmondois station (Transilien line H, take the Place de la Gare exit).

(1) When the boulevard turns left, turn right onto Chemin des Sablons. Head north-west until you reach the next intersection.

(2) Then turn sharply right. Take the first path on the left (elevation 71) and cross through a wood.

(3) At the T-junction, turn left. After less than a hundred metres, turn right. Leave the woods and walk between the fields. At the T-junction, turn right and go downhill. Further on, you will come to the tarmac road and continue straight ahead.

(4) You will come out onto Rue de Nesles (D64) and follow it to the right. Stay on this main road until you reach the foot of Parmain Church.

(5)Turn left onto Rue du Maréchal Foch. Take the first right onto Rue Guichard. At the crossroads, go straight ahead and cross a branch of the Oise. Continue along Rue de Conti and cross two more branches of the Oise.

(6) On the other side of the last bridge, turn left onto Rue de la Capitainerie. At the roundabout, continue straight ahead and walk along a car park on your right. At the corner of the car park, turn right into Parc Manchez. Continue straight ahead and, after about 150 metres, turn left.

(7) Leave the park, cross Rue Abbé Breuil and continue straight ahead along Allée le Notre. Continue straight ahead until you reach a roundabout.

(8) Go around the roundabout and continue straight ahead along Rue des Chalets. After a left-hand bend, you will come out onto Avenue du Chemin Vert. Follow this road to the right until you reach the Rond-Point des Héros de la Résistance.

(9) Go around the roundabout on the left and take the second road. Continue along Chemin des Trois Sources.

(10) The pond is on the left. Continue straight ahead for about 1 km, passing the Conti Clinic and Les Trois Sources campsite.

(11) Turn left, then right, and follow the Oise river on your left, passing over the Ru du Bois, under a bridge on the A16 motorway, then under another bridge on the D301 road.

(12) The path leaves the Oise and leads to Mours. Pass the swimming pool, following the D922, then pass under the railway bridge.

(13) Cross the roundabout. Continue straight on Rue Saint-Roch, walk along the Saint Roch business park on your left, and pass the Beaumont-sur-Oise rescue centre.

(14) At the roundabout, turn left and take the Pont de l'Oise bridge. On the other side, continue straight ahead along Avenue Jean Jaurès and pass the gendarmerie. Go around a roundabout and drive past a car park on your left.

Yes, we do follow the Oise, but not very closely, which is a bit disappointing given the name of the walk. The first part of the walk to L'Isle-Adam is interesting, but after that we follow a very busy road, which detracts from the walk. It's a shame.

Even the name of the hike, following the Oise... in fact, you only follow the Oise for about 1.5 km, and with all the vegetation, you can hardly see the river (between points 11 and 12). Then it gets worse between points 12 and 13, where you follow a very busy road, and the end of the walk to Persan station is frankly not very exciting.
Basically, this walk is interesting from the start to L'Isle Adam, or at most to the Etang des 3 Sources, but after that it's not worth it.
