Passeurs Trail

(S/E) With the railway on your right, head towards the main road and the pedestrian crossing opposite a butcher's shop. Cross the Grand Rue (N12) with caution and look for the stairs starting from the car park opposite and leading up to the rock.

(1) Go up. Ignore the path on your right. You will arrive at the shelter/viewpoint. Ignore the path on the right and continue climbing. At the various junctions, take the path of your choice as you will end up at the top of a field.

(2) Turn left and follow the field for 300 m. At an intersection, take the path at right angles to your left. Descend to the concrete track. Continue to the right until you reach the path starting on the embankment before the bend.

(3) Go up and pass the bench. At the top, continue to the right and immediately turn left onto the path going downhill. At the bottom, take the wooden footbridge.

(4) Then follow the metal footbridge on the left to pass under the railway. Ignore the next footbridge on your left and go up the path on the right. Walk along the hay meadows and you will come to a road.

(5) Continue left and walk along this road for 1.2 km, leaving the markings halfway and ignoring the intersections. You will come to private ponds on your left and information panels about the Sentier des Passeurs.

(6) Take the forest path on the left, closest to the pond. Walk along this main forest path for 1.2 km, continuing straight ahead at the three junctions you come to (the^third being slightly to your right). Continue along the forest path until you leave the woods.

(7) Turn left and, a little further on, take the small stone bridge on your right. You have just crossed the border and are now in Belgium. Continue to the left and, at the end of the fence, turn right. Follow the path uphill. At the wide farm track, turn left. Continue straight ahead at the intersection, leaving the signposts behind. Walk for about 600 m until you reach the road.

(8) Turn left and follow the markings. At the intersection with a border marker, continue straight ahead on the gravel path. Walk straight ahead for 1.9 km until you reach the road, noting a few crosses along the way.

(9) Turn left and walk along this farm road for just under 1 km. At the crossroads with a memorial stone and a calvary, continue straight ahead and enter the village of Biwisch. At the crossroads, go straight ahead towards the chapel. Turn right and follow the road for 200 m. Change of signposting.

(10) Go up the road behind the houses on your right and leave the village of Biwisch. Follow this country road for just under 500 m and, at the crossroads with the water catchment on your right, turn left. Enter the village of Troisvierges. Go down the road and, in the left-hand bend, look for the steps.

(11) Go down the steps and carefully cross Rue d'Asselborn (N12), opposite the hotel-pizzeria-pub. Turn left. Then turn right into the^second road on your right. Walk down Rue des Prés to the intersection.

(12) Cross carefully and follow the path leading to the pedestrian tunnel, slightly to the right, which is lined with white tiles. Go under the railway line. On the other side, turn left, cross over the River Woltz and take the stairs on your left. At the top, turn left and you will find your car park (S/E).
