Description of the walk

Start at the junction of Chemin de Pyra and Lotissement du Vernes; there is space to park two or three cars at the entrance to the botanical trail.

(S/E) Follow the direction indicated by the botanical trail sign, heading west.

(1) Turn left (south-east) at the junction at the top of the hill.

(2) Turn right (south-west) at a sign for the botanical trail to head down into the woods. The trail soon turns westwards.

(3) Take a sharp left (south-east) at the botanical trail sign.

(4) Follow the forest track, passing the sign for the “Sur la trace des animaux” nature trail. Join a road and follow it to the left.

(5) Leave the road and turn right (south) onto Chemin de la Bouscarre. Further on, this path takes a sharp left-hand bend, then joins a path which you follow to the left.

(6) Cross the makeshift bridge over the Ruisseau du Dorus. Continue towards Mauressac. Cross the D40 with care and go straight on to return to the car park (S/E).

This botanical trail should be renamed "motocross track". All along the way, we came across motocross bikes and quad bikes that had torn up the trail. As for the tranquillity of the walk, it was just a continuous vroom, vroom.
It's a real shame because it must be a beautiful trail for families to enjoy.

A very pleasant route. A breath of fresh air when the trees are in leaf. There’s plenty of walking through the forest. It’s a route best done when the weather is warm. One downside is that it gets very muddy—really sticky—when it’s rained. The route can be extended as there are other marked trails to explore.
