Departure from the car park on the seafront at Sainte-Marguerite.
(S/E) Take Chemin de la Saâne, marked trail No. 12 (GR®212), leaving Chemin des Salicoques on your left.
Follow the path along the Saâne river. After 900 m, leave the first path on your left and continue straight ahead.
(1) After an S-bend, you will see a pumping station on your left. Continue to the paved road (end of Chemin de la Novale) and turn left onto the D323 (you can take a detour via Longueil, see the section during the hike, which adds 700 m).
You will leave Longueil, and the road will climb for 700 m. After a left-hand bend, take the path 200 m on the right.
Follow the path for 500 m.
(2) When you reach the intersection in Blancmesnil (at the gate of house No. 825), take the first road on the right and then, 250 m further on, turn left. The road continues straight ahead for 700 m. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead.
(3) Continue for 300 m and turn right onto the small paved road. Follow the road as it turns left and then right to join the D27. Follow this road to the left towards Varengeville.
(4) Turn right onto Chemin de la Ferme des Vieux Blés at the sign for Varengeville. Follow the road to the end to join the D123 (you will see Manoir d'Ango directly opposite).
(5) Turn left onto Route du Manoir d'Ango, turn right after 300 metres and then left to join the D75.
(6) At the junction with the D75 (Route de Dieppe), take Rue de l'Aumône opposite. After 250 m, at the crossroads, continue straight ahead on Route de l'Aumone. This turns left (leave Route Aubin Hamel on your right) and continue for about 700 m until you reach a three-way junction on a right-hand bend at numbers 47-49.
(7) Take the path on the left markedGR®21, recognisable by the pedestrian turnstile.
The path is well signposted. You will arrive next to a water treatment plant on your right.
(8) After the plant, turn left (GR®21) and take the small path immediately on the right (a shortcut offthe GR®21that you can follow). At the end of this small path, turn right and rejoin theGR®21.
(9) At the end of the path, at the military cemetery and the Varengeville marine cemetery, turn left (D27) onto the road leading to the church (the marine cemetery is on your right). Continue for 300 m and take the Chemin des Grandes Masures on your right, still markedGR®21.
After 150 m, follow theGR® on the right; the passage is between numbers 13 and 15.
(10) At the end of the path, turn right (small path signposted but slightly hidden) and join the small tarmac road. Follow it to the left uphill for 40 m.
(11) Take the Chemin privé de la Terrasse on the right. Go to the edge of the cliffs (enjoy the view) then turn left and follow the path to the end.
At the intersection, turn 90° to the right and descend towards the Valleuse de Vasterival. At the roundabout, take the second exit, Chemin des Chênes, on the right (leave the Chemin des Douaniers). At the end, turn right onto the tarmac road to Vastérival. Follow it to the end and continue left for about 50 metres.
(12) Take the small path on the right and follow it to the end. Turn right towards the Phare d'Ailly.
Just before the lighthouse, turn left and rejoin theGR® marked path on the left after 20 m (almost at the end of the car park).
Follow the GR® marked path. After 50 m, the path makes a sharp right turn, cross the wooden bridge and continue straight ahead at the intersection. Cross a second wooden bridge, then the third one 20 m further on the right.
Cross a fourth bridge, continue on theGR® and after a dead tree, turn right and continue on this path.
(13) At the end of the path, turn right. At the three paths, continue on Chemin de la Cavée (the path furthest to the right) and head towards Sainte-Marguerite.
(14) Cross and turn right at the church, continue on Chemin du Presbytère until the end. Follow this path and arrive at the top of the cliffs overlooking the Sainte-Marguerite seafront.
Go down to the left to return to the car park (S/E).
