From Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer to Varengeville and back via the GR®21

Set off from the car park at the church in Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer.

(S/E) Cross the road and follow the Chemin de la Cavée. After 900 m, follow the tarmac road, the Chemin sous les Bruyères, until you reach a junction

(1) Take the road opposite, the Chemin Jean Jacques Rousseau. Follow the road to the end. It bends sharply to the right (90°) and becomes the Chemin du Général Toulouse, leading to a junction.

(2) Cross the D75 with care and take the path opposite, the Chemin sous le Bois, and follow it
until you reach a junction.

(3) Turn left at a right angle, continue to the end, to the T-junction, and turn right.
Carry on to the junction with the D27.

(4) Cross the D27 carefully and follow the main path opposite. Ignore the paths on the left until you reach the junction with the D123.

(5) Cross the D123 with care and follow the path opposite. Continue to the next junction, cross over and follow the path opposite to the end, then turn left onto the small path.
Carry on to the junction with Le Chemin Courtel.

(6) Follow this road to the left. Continue to the junction with the Route de Dieppe (D75).

(7) Cross the road (watch out for traffic) and turn diagonally left onto Rue Grange des Conges. At the next junction, carry straight on along Rue Grange des Conges.
At the junction, 400 metres on, turn right onto Rue de l’Aumône. Continue for 150 metres, keeping the roads on your right.

(8) Follow Rue de l’Aumône as it bends to the left (leaving Route Aubin Hamel on your right) and carry on for about 700 metres, until you reach a three-way junction in a right-hand bend, near numbers 47–49.

(9) Take the path on the left, signposted GR®21, recognisable by the pedestrian turnstile.
The path is well signposted. You’ll arrive next to a sewage treatment works on your right.

(10) After the treatment plant, turn left (GR®21), take the path that goes uphill; at the junction, turn right and follow the GR®21.

(11) At the end of the path, near the Varengeville military cemetery and the maritime cemetery, turn left (D27) onto the Route de l’Église (the maritime cemetery is on your right). Continue for 300 metres and take the Chemin des Grandes Masures on the right, still signposted GR®21.
After 150 m, follow the GR® to the right; the path is between numbers 13 and 15.

(12) At the end of the path, turn right (a small, slightly hidden signposted path) and, at the bottom of the small valley, leave the Chemin Privé de l’Église by taking the path on the left which goes uphill. At the junction, turn right and join the small tarmac road, the Chemin des Deux Gorges.

(13) Take the Chemin privé de la Terrasse opposite. Walk to the edge of the cliffs (enjoy the view), then turn left and follow the path to the end.
At the junction, turn 90° to the right and head down towards the Valleuse de Vasterival.

(14) At the roundabout, pass the^first exit on the right (Chemin des Douaniers) and take the second exit on the right (Chemin des Chênes). At the end, turn right onto the tarmac road to Vastérival. Follow it to the end and continue left onto a track.

(15) Turn left onto the Route du Phare for about a hundred metres, then turn off onto the small track on the right and follow it to the end. Turn right, towards the Ailly Lighthouse.
Just before the lighthouse, turn left.

(16) Follow the Route du Sémaphore, which turns into a track. You will then leave the^{GR® route.} Follow this track, which leads down to Sainte-Marguerite-sur-Mer beach. Join the main road on the left and continue towards Quiberville.

(17) Turn left onto the Chemin de la Saâne, marked route No. 12 (GR®212), leaving the Chemin des Salicoques on your left and following the path alongside the Saâne until you reach a junction near a sewage treatment plant.

(18) Leave the^GR®. Turn left in front of the sewage treatment plant, head uphill to the next junction and turn left onto the Chemin des Frênes. At the junction with the Chemin des Ruguets, follow the latter to the right until the end.

(19) At the junction with the Chemin de Nolant, take the small path opposite and follow it to the junction with the Chemin du Presbytère; turn right to reach the church car park (S/E).
