Rouge Gazon car park.
(S/E) From the Rouge Gazon car park, take the path opposite the hotel-restaurant overlooking the road you arrived on. This is theGR®531, marked with a Blue Rectangle; walk for about 600 m, heading north-west, until you reach a Fork in the road.
(1) Leave theGR®531and continue to the left. Follow the Blue ‘Les Charbonniers’ trail towards Saint-Maurice. Continue for about 300 m until you reach a junction just before a right-hand bend.
(2) Turn right towards Bussang (mountain bike route no. 15). Further on, the path joins theGR®531. Carry on for a few hundred metres and you’ll see the first Neufs-Bois pond on the left-hand side of the track.
(3) Take the path on the right which climbs up to La Chaume des Neufs-Bois.
(4) Enjoy the peace and beauty of the scenery.
Then retrace your steps back to the first pond.
(3) Follow the path on the right which runs alongside this pond for about a hundred metres until you reach a junction.
(5) Carry on straight ahead, skirting the second pond, and continue down to the third one below.
(6) After a well-deserved short break in this green paradise, retrace your steps.
(5) Turn right onto the path between the first and second ponds; it runs alongside the first pond. Enter the forest; the path heads south-west. After about 500 metres, look to your right and admire the Chaume des Neufs-Bois opposite. Keep going in the same direction until you reach the Col des Mineurs (signpost).
(7) Take the path furthest to the left (mountain bike routes nos. 17 and 18). A few hundred metres further on, you’ll come to the junction you passed on the way out.
(2) Carry straight on along the track, in the opposite direction to your outward journey. Further on, the path turns right and joins theGR®531.
(1) Turn right, heading in the opposite direction to your outward journey, to reach La Chaume du Rouge Gazon and the car park (S/E).
