Riverside - Ardgartan forest

Start : This walk starts from the entrance of Ardgartan Forest Holiday Park (G83 7AS). There is a parking a little farther down the road and you can easily start from that car park. Grid ref. NN 274 031

(S/E) At the footpath situated at the intersection of the main road and the entrance of the holiday park. Follow the sign indicating riverside walk/car park (the river should be on your left-hand side). Continue on this path that follows the river and with the main road on your right-hand side. Keep on this riverside path until reaching a car park.

(1) Take left to cross the bridge then take left again to follow the wide path (with the river on your left-hand side). Go straight on until seeing a path going towards the river.

(2) Take left towards the river, continue until seeing another smaller path on your left going closer to the banks of the river.

(3) You can either take that path (as seen on the map) or keep going straight on the large path. Both paths end up meeting anyway.

(4) Continue straight along the riverside until seeing a little bridge. Cross it, climb the stairs to get to the entrance of the Holiday park (S/E).

Dog-friendly : Yes, no stiles, can be off-leash most of the time.
