Reigoldswil and Wasserfallen

Park in the cable car car park.

(S/E) Head right, pass the cable car station and follow the signs for Wasserfallen Jägerweg. You will reach a crossroads at Vogelmatt.

(1) Stay on the right-hand branch and climb the road, which becomes a good path. Follow the stream on the left. Take care, as this path is used by scooters for the descent. Follow the Waldlehrpfad to the bridge.
Turn left towards Wasserfallen Jägerweg or Jägerwagli.
The path follows the stream upstream, crossing several bridges. You will reach a crossroads with a sculpture of a goblin.

(2) Cross a good path and continue on the trail to the left of the sculpture. Continue until you reach another crossroads. Continue straight ahead to reach the Schelmenloch Wasserfal waterfall. Return to the crossroads and turn left after the carved wooden owl and pass under the overhanging cliff.
There are a few tricky sections, but chains are provided to help you through them without difficulty.

(3) Turn left and follow the path to a bridge. At the small metal gate, turn right and follow the Eingang Waldseilpark path. Climb the stairs under the tree-top adventure course to reach the cable car station, next to the Heidi Stübli restaurant.

(4) Go up the tarmac road to the left, along the children's park. Don't hesitate to take a look at the giant objects carved from wood, such as a sledge, a shoe and deer antlers.
Pass the llama farm on your left and continue along the path. You will arrive at the giants' bench.

(5) Continue through the forest until you reach a tarmac road.
Do not take this road, but turn right along the car park towards Hinderi Egg. You will come to another intersection.

(6) Turn right at a 90° angle towards Hinderi Egg. Zigzag your way up through the woods, then follow the pastures on the left. Pass the long table next to the barbecues, at the Hinderi Egg sign, and climb the stairs on the right to reach the summit.
Return to the sign, pass the barrier and cross the meadow towards Chellenchöpfli.
Turn right and climb up to the magnificent viewpoint over the Bernese Alps.
Begin the fairly steep descent into the forest to reach a pasture.

(7) Turn left to return to the forest and follow the ridge to reach the small chapel of Rochus Kapelle.

(8) Turn right and descend towards Wasserfallen Reigoldswil on the right. Pass the Berggasthaus Hintere Wasserfallen and continue along the tarmac road to return to the top station of the cable car.

(4) Take the path above the start of the tree-top adventure course towards Talstation Reigoldswil Steiler Abstieg.
Be careful here: do not take Jägerweg, which is the path you took on the way up.
Enter the forest to begin a fairly steep descent.
When you reach a good path, turn right and you will come to a tunnel.

(9) Take the path on the left, still Talstation Reigoldswil Steiler Abstieg
After a few zigzags on a good path, turn left.
Follow this path and, after a few hairpin bends, leave it and turn right. Talstation Reigoldswil Steiler Abstieg
Stay on this path to reach a tarmac road that leads to the Vogelmatt farm and back to the^first crossroads you passed on the way up.

(1) Take the same good path you took on the way up in the opposite direction to pass the cable car station again and arrive at the cable car car park (S/E).

To get to the car park at the start, follow the Gondelbahn signs in the village.
Please note: the car park fills up quickly as it is small, so arrive early.
You can eat or drink next to the cable car arrival station at the Heidi-Stübli Restaurant or at the Berggasthaus Hintere Wasserfallen.
The circular loop can be done in the opposite direction, but personally, I prefer this direction as it is more relaxing after the long climb at the start.
To avoid the fairly steep descent or to go faster, you can hire scooters at the top station of the cable car for the 5 km descent.
