(S) From the refuge, take the path eastwards, which quickly splits in two.
(1) At the marked crossroads, take the Tour du Cervin trail on the right, return south-west towards the lake on its left bank, and head south-south-east.
(2) Before the place called Chardoney, make a 90° turn and, heading almost due east, begin the ascent of the Valcornera Pass.
(3) Cross a large false flat where snow persists late in the season and quickly find the cairns that mark the path uphill. This path through the scree requires great vigilance so as not to stray from the cairns. It ends at the Col de Valcornera.
(4). Begin the descent to the refuge, remaining very vigilant. The start of the descent is made easier by using the free rope, which helps you keep your balance. This short section precedes an easy arrival at the Perrucco Vuillermoz refuge (E) on the edge of Lake Mont Dragon.
