The “Traumtour” Qualitätsweg to Löwenstein Castle begins with a steep path up the castle hill and leads through part of the moat circular trail to the ruins of Löwenstein Castle, where there is a refreshment stop. The “short circular trail” is 1.2 km long and runs mainly along the “old” moat.
Once you reach the castle ruins, the 26-metre-high former defence tower offers sweeping views. The route then continues along the edge of the forest via the ‘Panoramablick’ section, past the ‘Funkenstein’, towards Bad Zwesten. Along the way, numerous seating areas invite you to take a break whilst enjoying views over the Wälzebach Valley and the low mountain range landscape.
The return journey follows the ‘Talblick’ section across meadows and fields towards the Löwenstein castle ruins and then along the ‘Waldweg’ back to the hiking car park by the recreational lake.
