“Qualitätsweg Dream Tour” Löwenstein Castle
This varied circular walk combines nature, history and sweeping views in a particularly charming way. Even the ascent to the Löwenstein castle ruins whets your appetite for more; at the top, alongside a snack bar, a fantastic view awaits from the former defence tower. Running along the edge of the forest, past the Funkenstein and offering impressive views over the Wälzebach Valley, the trail winds through a characteristic low-mountain landscape and repeatedly invites you to stop and take in the scenery along the way.
Niemental circular through the woods
This is a nice walk through the woods, starting from the campsite in Niemental.
Follow the Niem stream through the woods towards Bursfelde. There is a beautiful monastery in the little village – well worth your while. Continue through the woods towards Ellershausen and back towards Löwenhagen.
