Puy Saint-Ambroise - Château de Coulon - Château de la Varenne

Departure from Puy Saint-Ambroise.

(S/E) Looking towards the northern horizon, head left.

(1) Take the first dirt track down to the right.

(2) At the bottom of the path, turn left.

(3) When you reach the tarmac road, go down the dirt track on the right.

(4) At the bottom of the path, turn left and continue to the D 168 road. Cross the road and continue along the dirt track. Pass through the Moulin des Vetets farm to reach a tarmac road.

(5) Turn right onto the road.

(6) Walk along the grounds of the Château de Coulon.

(7) When you reach the forest, under the power line, turn right and then right again, towards Les Thuriers.

(8) At the power line and the abandoned Thuriers farm, turn right. Continue until you reach the tarmac road, then turn left and continue for a few metres.

(9) Turn right towards Château de la Varenne. You are now on the^GR®®3trail.

(10) At the multiple crossroads, turn right onto the D 168 and, in the right-hand bend, continue straight ahead on the path. Follow this path, ignoring the secondary paths on either side.

(11) At the inverted Y-junction, go straight ahead and join the Fond des Crues.

(12) Turn left and leave the^GR®®3, rejoining it a few kilometres further on.

(13) Turn right to climb back up to Puy Saint-Ambroise (S/E), keeping to the left and following the^GR®®3.
