Description of the route

Departure from the village of Saint-Léon. Car park next to the church, Rue du Proscrit Billard.

(S/E) With your back to the church entrance, turn left towards the Donjon, Rue du Conventionnel Beauchamp. Pass in front of the town hall and reach a four-way fork at the village exit.

(1) Turn left towards the stadium. Continue straight ahead until you reach a dirt track on the left.

(2) Follow this road and join the D 21.

(3) Turn right, then take the first small tarmac road on the left to La Bologne, then continue straight ahead.

(4) After the descent into the forest, at the crossroads, continue right until you reach the D 21 road.

(5) Cross the road to the right and take a small road on the left.

(6) After the farm at the bottom of the valley, take the dirt track on the left.

(7) At the four-way junction, turn right towards Les Champins farm.

(8) At the farm, continue along the path on the left.

(9) At the four-way junction, continue straight ahead towards Les Devines and pass this hamlet.

(10) At the end of the dirt track, turn right onto the D 168.

(11) After Les Bassots farm, take the first left. After a few metres, the tarmac road becomes a dirt track. Continue straight ahead, passing Les Marnes farm until you reach the tarmac road.

(12) At the crossroads, continue along the dirt track on the left and take the first turn on the right.

(13) Follow this road to the next crossroads.

(14) Cross the road and continue along the dirt track. Pass "La Maison Neuve". After the forest, continue straight ahead. The track becomes a tarmac road until you reach Château de Châtelperron.

(15) Before reaching the château, take the road on the left and then the first road on the right. You will reach the Grotte des Fées restaurant.

(16) Go around the restaurant on the right and take the dirt track that starts behind it towards the Grotte des Fées.

(17) Continue straight ahead on the dirt track and join the D 295.

(18) Follow it to the right until you reach the D 53.

(19) Turn right and drive 2.3 km along the road until you reach the dirt track on the left, about 100 metres before the forest exit, towards L'Haut.

(20) Continue left on the path and, at the three-way junction at "Poulecane", turn right.

(21) At the fork under the high-voltage power line, turn left then right towards Les Thuriers.

(22) At the Thuriers farm, under the high-voltage power line, take the path on the right towards Château de Varenne.

(23) At the end of the dirt track, turn left then right at an acute angle. Join theGR®® 3 and pass in front of the château, then continue to the Les Gouttes Pommier housing estate.

(24) At the housing estate, turn right onto the D 168. Drive 600 m along the road and find a dirt track on the left in the bend to the right of the road.

(25) Continue straight ahead on this road and follow theGR®® 3 straight ahead to Font des Crues.

(26) At the farm, at the crossroads of four paths, take the path on the left.

(4) At the crossroads you passed on the way there, turn right and then right again at the next crossroads. At the road, continue straight ahead.

(27) Pass the summit of Saint-Ambroise and continue to the next fork.

(28) Take the path that descends to the right.

(29) At the bottom of the path, turn left and continue straight ahead until you reach the D 168.

(30) Continue left at the bottom of the vineyards. At the cemetery, turn left and head towards the village of Saint-Léon (S/E).
