Car park before the drawbridge, Avenue Jean Monnet.
Blue markings (fairly discreet)
(S/E) From the car park, go through a barrier (sign prohibiting motor vehicles) and take the towpath on the left bank of the Élorn river. Turn right towards Landerneau town centre, taking the tarmac path or the grassy strip closer to the river. Walk along the sports fields on your right. Bilingual signs (French-Breton) regularly explain the "zero pesticides" management of the riverbanks.
(1) Continue along the Quai de Cornouaille, passing the Caërnarfon bridge built in 1957 to replace the wooden bridge built in 1941 by the Germans. This bridge links northern Finistère (Léon) and southern Finistère (Cornouaille). Continue along Quai de Cornouaille, observing on your right the beautiful row of residences belonging to the great merchants of Landerneau, from which stands out the bell tower of the Church of Saint Thomas of Canterbury, built between 1607 and 1630. Reach the Pont de Rohan, an inhabited bridge. It is one of the oldest of the forty-five bridges in Europe lined with houses.
(2) Leave the bridge on your left and continue along the small street opposite, which turns left to rejoin the river. Pass a bridge on your left and continue into the grounds of the retirement home. You will reach a footbridge that takes you up to the Pont du Voas Glaz.
(3) Turn right and head towards the roundabout, then turn left towards the railway bridge (TER Landerneau Quimper line).
(4) Turn left to return to the riverbank and continue along the right-hand side, ignoring the footbridge opposite. On the left is the kayak club's slalom course. Pass under another railway bridge (Brest-Paris TGV line), cross a footbridge and you will reach the "Les Alligators" kayak club facilities.
(5) Cross the wooden steps to reach the footbridge and cross the Elorn. Turn right and follow the right bank. Pass under the railway bridge again and walk alongside the Marie Curie School.
Ignore the footbridge on your left, pass under the second railway bridge, then climb up onto the Pont de Voas-Glaz and descend on the opposite side. Continue along the river, passing the town hall, from where you can see the back of the inhabited bridge.
(6) Now walk along the Quai du Léon, pass the Pont de Caërnarfon and continue along the Quai Barthélémy Kerros, named after a figure from Landerneau who distinguished himself in the great adventure of privateering and maritime trade in the 18th century. Pass the boat "Dalh-Mad" (Hold on), a replica of an old boundary sloop built in 1992.
Continue along the Jardin de la Palud, a large esplanade with playgrounds (skateboarding), and then along the banks where shared gardens are located. Pass under the swing bridge and arrive at the nautical base.
(7) Go up to the right along the small street, go around the roundabout and cross the bridge to return to the car park (S/E).
